Introduction of the Department of Surveying and Mapping Engineering

Currently the total number of full-time students from the department of surveying and mapping engineering department has exceeded 1000. There are both engineering and basic surveying staff offices, and 36 teaching staff, 9 of which have got senior professional titles and 1 has a doctor degree. Department of surveying and mapping engineering was awarded innovation and entrepreneurship educational reform pilot department, and has established one major that’s supported by the central finance, one provincial excellent course, one provincial teaching staff and one provincial practicing base. Our department was successively awarded the demonstrative department in the labor contest in Shaanxi province, outstanding department staff in the labor contest in Shaanxi province, advanced basic-level party of institutions of higher learning in Shaanxi province, advanced team with spiritual civilization of educational system, outstanding department of the institution and advanced party, etc.

In recent years, our teachers have won the first prize once, the second prize once and a special award for their teaching achievement. Our department has cultivated one national outstanding teacher, one May Day female model, 2 provincial well-known teachers and one provincial moral model. 13 teachers have won excellent instructor prize in national technical competition, and 2 teachers have won the first place in two races of the national survey-instructing contest, and 4 have participated the second term and won 2 special awards and 2 first prizes and won 5 first prizes in informational teaching contest in Shaanxi. Another 5 teachers have been nominated the National Registered Surveyor. In the past three years, our teaching staff completed nearly 30 teaching projects, published 5 textbooks and over 100 essays. Our students have won 30 national awards and 26 provincial awards in surveying competitions. Graduates with excellent professional quality, welcomed by employers, the employment rate has been maintained at more than 99%.

Introduction of the Department of Surveying and Mapping Engineering

1. Engineering Surveying Technology (national first-class major)

Employment directions: mainly targeted to railways, highways, metros, surveying and mapping, water conservancy, urban construction and planning, land& resources, etc., and engaged in the surveying of designing, constructing and managing of engineering survey.

2. Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Technology

Employment directions: mainly targeted to enterprises in surveying and mapping, homeland, transportation, projects, construction, water conservancy and hydropower, mining, weather, coal, house property, petrochemical industry, landscape, etc., and engaged in the application of photogrammetry and remote sensing technology.
