Introduction of the Department of Rail Engineering

Currently the total number of full-time students from the department of rail engineering has exceeded 1500. There is a teaching staff of 42, including 2 provincial well-known teachers, 1 national well-known teacher of rail traffic education, 1 provincial well-known professional tutor, 1 labor model of the labor contest in Shaanxi province, 3 leaders of part-time enterprises, over 100 part-time teachers of enterprises, establishing a teaching staff of “well-known teachers& experts” with blended professions of part-time and full-time.

Our department is targeted to urban rail traffic, high-speed railways, urban underground comprehensive corridor and the construction of sponge city, etc., engaged with a combination feature with professional education, social training, skill inspection, scientific development and technical services, had a training base of high-speed railway tunnel with the proportion of 1:1 inside our school and 6 professional skill training bases with a combing concept of “teaching, learning, doing” for engineering inspection, engineering supervision, shield simulating, etc. Our department has established the branch center of engineering inspection center of China Railway in the Southwest with the cooperation of Southwest academy of science of China Railway Corporation, built cooperation with China Railway Tunnel, Urban Rail Corporation of China Railway first group and China construction Group, establishing over 20 “learning with practicing” training bases. We have successively been nominated demonstration department of reform and innovative institutes in Shaanxi province, advanced and moral group of teaching staff and excellent primary party of institutes of Shaanxi province. In recent years, with qualified professional skills, our graduates are credited and welcomed by the employers, and employment rate has been maintained at 99%.

1. Underground and Tunnel Engineering Technology (national first-class major, national professional teaching resource base constructive major)

Tunnel Construction

Employment direction: mainly targeted to railways, highways, hydropower, municipal engineering and other enterprises, engaged in the construction, management, quality inspection and other work of underground engineering and tunnel engineering, as well as maintenance and repair work in some metro companies, railway bureau and other operation and management departments.

Shield Construction

Employment direction: mainly targeted to the construction of urban railways, municipal pipe networks, railway (highway) tunnels, water and gas pipelines and other units, and engaged in shield construction, manufacturing, operation and maintenance of technology and management work.

2. Urban Rail Transit Engineering Technology (national first-class major (cultivation), provincial comprehensive reformed major)

Employment direction: mainly targeted to China Railway Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation, Sinohydro Corporation, municipal engineering companies, some national railway bureaus and metro companies, etc., and engaged in the construction, management, quality inspection and maintenance of urban rail transit engineering and other work.
