Introduction of the Department of the Electrical and Information Engineering

Currently the total number of the full-time students from the department of electrical and information engineering has exceeded 1900. There is a teaching staff of 48, including 8 professors and associate professors, 25 lecturers and 38 teachers with master degree.

Our department closely follows the demand of talents in the railway field, focuses on the cultivation of students’ professional skills, establishes primary training labs of signal, comprehensive training labs of signal, training labs of regional signal, equipment maintenance training labs of station signal, training labs of ZhongXing internet, training labs of electrical engineering, training labs of electricity, driving-simulating training labs of HXD3 locomotive, comprehensive and professional training labs of SS9 locomotive and totally up to 9 labs. Besides, we built practical a training district, a training district of overhead line system, a drill-practicing base of overhead line system, a comprehensive training lab of signal co-established by China Railway first group and SXRI (Shaanxi Railway Institute), a training base co-established by SXRI and ZhongXing internet, etc., and cooperated with all railway bureaus to implement order training. In the past few years, our graduates are primarily employed by rail bureaus such as China Railway Corporation, China Construction Corporation and other large-medium-sized enterprises. Employment rate has been maintained steadily at 98%.
