Introduction of the Department of Construction Engineering

Currently the total number of full-time students from the department of construction engineering has exceeded 1400. There is a teaching staff of 55, including 2 doctors, 36 masters, 35 teachers with medium and senior titles and 31 teachers have been qualified to teach double majors. 13 teachers had successively been sent to Germany, Singapore, Australia, etc., to study. We have established 1 construction-training base supported by the central finance, over 10 training camps of various types, and cooperated with China Railway first group, Shaanxi Construction Group and Glodon Software and established a number of training bases to develop students’ professional skills.

One teacher has acquired the certification of “qualified geotechnical engineer”. 10 teachers have acquired the certification of “qualified construction engineer” and another 3 teachers have acquired the certification of “qualified cost engineer”. 3 of them were recruited as members of professional construction group and 5 of them were recruited as technical advisers. Our teaching staff has published over 180 essays, establish over 40 projects, published 15 textbooks, completed 16 serving projects of the enterprises and been successively awarded the first prize of national informational teaching contests of institutes, the second prize of multimedia courseware contest, the first prize of project cost of engineering skill contest, etc.

With qualified professional skills and willingness to be dedicated, our graduates have been highly credited. Employment rate of graduates has been steadily maintained at 98%, and 90% of them are employed with their own fields of professional skills. Our graduates are now well paid and having a great career prospect.

Introduction of the Department of Construction Engineering

1. Construction Engineering Technology (national key major, national first-class major (cultivation))

Employment direction: mainly targeted to China Railway Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation, China Construction Corporation, China Road and Bridge Corporation, some metro companies and other enterprises, and engaged in the construction and management of high-speed railway stations, metro stations, industrial and civil construction projects, construction quality inspection and evaluation, construction security management, construction drawing budget and data preparation, etc.

2. Project Costs (national first-class major, provincial comprehensive reformed major)

Employment direction: mainly targeted to China Railway Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation, some major railway bureaus, and construction and cost consulting enterprises in Shaanxi province, and engaged in work inspection and valuation, plan statistics, construction budget, contract management and preparation of bidding documents, internal cost accounting, engineering changes and claims, etc.

3. Construction and Decoration Engineering Technology (national first-class major (cultivation), college-level comprehensive reformed major)

Employment direction: mainly targeted to China Construction Corporation, China Railway Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation and other construction enterprises and construction decoration enterprises, and engaged in the design and construction of high-speed railway station, metro station, large tooling engineering and home decoration engineering, decoration material procurement and supply and management, decoration engineering budget and final accounts and other work.

4. Water Supply and Drainage Engineering Technology

Employment direction: mainly targeted to China Construction Corporation, China Railway Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation, metro companies, municipal engineering companies and other enterprises, and engaged in the operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment, municipal pipe network construction and management of high-speed railway stations, metro stations and construction projects, etc.

5. Information Management of Construction Projects (BIM)

Employment direction:mainly targeted to China Construction Corporation, China Railway Corporation, China Railway Construction Corporation, surveying and designing, engineering consulting, construction software development and other enterprises, as well as the government housing and urban and rural construction departments, and engaged in BIM modeling design, project management and engineering consulting, etc.

6. Construction Equipment Engineering Technology

Employment direction: mainly targeted to construction enterprises, construction and installation companies and property management departments, engaged in construction water and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and electrical equipment construction technology and management.
